Are you looking for a new club with quality coaching? Are you moving to the area? The Under 9s are looking to recruit more players with a view to forming another team to start playing together in the spring and to commence competitive football for the 2009/10 season. If you are interested in playing regular 7-a-side football or know someone who does then feel free to get in touch. Our club is very welcoming to any new player looking to play football, whatever your ability. Boys and girls are welcome to join who are currently in school year 4. We play all our Home games and train at the Ryeish Green Pavilion, in Spencers Wood, Reading. If you would like to join to support SWYFC as a social or non playing Member you are also most welcome. Please contact the current Under 9s coach Simon Vincent (vincent.simon@sky.com).

We will also require coaches (with or without experience) to help the team get off the ground. Please also contact us if you would like to help out.

Spencers Wood Youth Football Club has been serving the local football community since 1977. The Club currently has teams ranging from Under 7s upto Under 13s as well as a developing Under 6s/Rising 5s Coaching School.

The Club is not highly prestigious in terms of championships and trophies although they have had their hands on a few down the years; the emphasis is on fun, learning and development. We believe youth football should be aspirational and that all young players should constantly endeavor to improve their individual technical ability but without losing sight of the importance of team play.The club ethic is for players to be competitive, to always try their best, but without a win at all costs mentality. Fair Play and respect for all involved in the game is fundamentally important. We pride ourselves with the standard of football played by our sides, the standard of coaching our teams are getting, and the behaviour of all our members. Together with the sociable character of the Club, where the Social Committee works hard to bring all teams together, to unite the Club. We hope that our enthusiasm ‘rubs off’ onto the players and their parents so that they can reap the benefits of what they put into it.

The most famous ex Spencers Wood player is Hayden Mullins, who now plays in the same claret and blue with West Ham United in the premiership.

Spencers Wood are a well established club, and, over the past 30 seasons we have progressed well.

We are affiliated to the Berks and Bucks FA and our teams currently play in 3 different leagues, South Chiltern Minor League, Hicks Development League and East Berkshire Youth League.

We enjoy excellent relations and support from many local organisations and businesses, making us a great community football club. We are also an FA Charter Standard Club.
