The team formed in early 2005, after being coached by Cleve Wicks at Lambs Lane School.
Chris Little took over from Cleve in May 2005 and still runs the team.
The first season the team was together (2005/06) was very successful, playing in the Hicks Development League (HDL).
At the end of the season the team won the HDL 'Most Developed Team' award, in recognition of their improvement over the course of the season.
In season 2006/07 the team started off in incredible form (P8 W7 D1 L0 F36 A4) and as a result were promoted at the half way point of the season to HDL Division 2.
The jump in standard was huge, but the never say die attitude of the team saw to it that they were never disgraced.
The 2007/08 season saw much improvement.
In the HDL Division 3, the team were competing with teams of equal ability again, and this proved to help their development significantly.
Throughout the season, the lads battled well, picking up points against the stronger teams and put the lesser teams to the sword with sometimes ruthless efficiencywith some big wins.
This led to a very respectable 3rd place finish. Not enough for promotion, but plenty of encouragement and confidence to push for it in 2008/09.
In junior football, should all players be given the same amount of time on the pitch during a game, regardless of ability?
Yes, always. Getting kids involved is the most important thing.
Yes, unless it is an important game.
No. Winning is important at all ages, so the best players should play more often.
